DR. MARIA S. TUGANO is an accomplished educator herself whom she stepped upwards the ladder of her career from classroom teaching in the secondary schools to the pinnacle of academic supervision in the higher educational institution. She rose from the rank by professional competence and merit starting as Head Teacher, then Principal, Director (CIMC and Extension Services), Dean of the Graduate School and the College of Education. She finished her Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Major in Physics which she earned under the SPI-UP MAT Scholarship Program (now DOST) in the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman. She later completed her Doctor of Education (Ed. D.), Major in Educational Management at the then Catanduanes State Colleges in 2004. All throughout her distinguished career, she presented research papers in local, regional, national and international levels. She also published articles and papers and completed researches. She wrote and developed instructional materials which are now being used by graduate school students. Her commendable experience in instruction, research, and administration had gained for her numerous awards and citations as Resource Person. Presently, Dr.Tugano holds the academic rank of Professor VI and is presently the Vice-President for Academic Affairs of the Catanduanes State University.
