NSTP joins the R.I.V.E.Rs for Life Program

The R.I.V.E.Rs for Life Program (Recognizing individuals/Institution towards Vibrant and Enhanced Rivers) Clean Gogon River Project was officially launch last Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Virac Town Plaza.

Marlon C. Francia, PENRO, extended his appreciation for the collective efforts and contributions towards the conservation of the natural resources, especially the rivers. While, Virac Mayor Samuel Laynes, represented by Doc. ArlynnArcilla, likewise commended the participants for reaching out and do the volunteering.

As a way of showing an all-out support to this endeavor, Dr. Gemma M. Samas, CSU NSTP/NSRC Director enjoined the participants and took the Pledge of Commitment. Among the areas for the cleanup, the CSU Community was delegated particularly at CSU-Moonwalk River, CSU-EBMC, Gogon Bridge-Nazareno, Lanao Bridge-Back of JMAMES.

The clean-up event are participated by various government and non-government agencies/stakeholders, spearheaded by the LGU Virac headed by Mayor Laynes, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Catanduanes State University NSTP faculty members and NSTP (CWTS & LTS) students headed by Dr. Gemma M. Samas, NSTP/NSRC Director., supported by the Provincial Government, PIA, BFP, BJMP, Land Bank of the Philippines, Army Reservists, BFAR, VIWAD, PNP, EMBC, Barangay Officials and other volunteers.#JManlagnit
